As an interior designer, one of my favorite challenges is transforming small spaces with big potential. Powder rooms, in particular, offer a unique opportunity to infuse personality and style in a way that feels both intimate and impactful. For this project, we wanted to create a space that felt timeless yet fresh—a powder room that tells a story, blending classic design with a modern twist. I’m thrilled to reveal the final result of what we’ve lovingly titled “Vintage Charm.”

A Green Vanity That Steals the Show
The heart of this powder room is the stunning custom-painted vanity in a soft, vintage-inspired green. This color not only brings life to the room but also anchors the design with its unexpected vibrancy. My amazing client found this perfect shade that is bold enough to make a statement, yet subtle enough to exude elegance.

White Oak LVT Floors: Beauty Meets Durability
To ground the space, we opted for white oak luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floors which we used throughout the rest of the home. LVT was the perfect choice for this powder room due to its durability and ability to mimic the natural warmth of real wood. The soft grain and neutral tone of the white oak help balance the boldness of the vanity, creating a harmonious backdrop that allows the brass accents to shine. The wood texture adds a sense of warmth and approachability to the room, while the practicality of LVT ensures it will hold up beautifully over time.

Brass Hardware: The Finishing Touch
Brass hardware has been a design staple for centuries, and for good reason—it brings warmth, elegance, and a timeless quality to any space. In this powder room, the brass pulls on the vanity complement the green hue perfectly, adding a touch of sophistication. The warm tones of the brass contrast with the green, creating a rich, layered look that feels both luxurious and inviting. It is not always easy to match brass hardware, I often have to replace hardware to match the accessories, but this vanity was beautiful with the hardware it came with.

Vintage Brass Faucet & Sconces: Subtle Glamour
To continue the vintage theme, we selected a vintage-inspired brass faucet that ties together the old-world charm we were aiming for. Its delicate curves and aged finish add character, making it the perfect choice for this space. Paired with brass sconces that flank the mirror, the lighting creates a soft glow that enhances the overall ambiance of the room. The sconces’ classic shape and patina reinforce the powder room’s sense of understated glamour.

Wallpaper: Added Luxury
We added a textured neutral wallpaper as an accent wall behind the vanity. This sophisticated backdrop adds depth and dimension, creating a serene, spa-like atmosphere. The neutral tones provide a perfect balance, complementing various fixtures and finishes while allowing the room’s other elements to shine. Ideal for those seeking a modern, yet timeless touch, this textured wallpaper elevates the space without overwhelming it.

Final Thoughts
In creating this powder room, the goal was to craft a space that feels like a hidden gem—unexpected, charming, and full of character. The vintage brass elements, paired with the fresh green vanity and warm white oak floors, come together to create a look that feels timeless yet entirely new. This project is a reminder that even the smallest spaces can have a big impact when designed with intention and creativity.
